Do I need to bring a car seat or booster for my child?

Texas state law requires children under 8 (and under 4'9") to ride in an approved car seat or booster, except in taxis and certain shuttle classifications. Texas Shuttle vans are classified as a shuttle service and the legal exemption can apply, but for safety we strongly recommend bringing your own car seat or booster for any child under 8 — we will install it. There's no extra charge to bring a car seat. Note your child's age and weight at booking so we send the right vehicle and seating.

Can I bring a pet or service animal?

Service animals are always welcome at no extra charge, per the ADA. Pets in carriers are allowed on a case-by-case basis — note the pet type, size, and carrier dimensions in the booking notes so we can confirm and assign an accommodating driver/vehicle. Pets must be in a secure carrier for the trip. For long-haul cross-region trips with large pets, call us first.

Is gratuity included or should I tip the driver?

Gratuity is not included in the flat-rate fare. Tips are appreciated but never required. Most travelers tip 15-20% of the fare for good service. You can tip the driver in cash at drop-off, or add a tip to your card on file by calling our office. Tips go 100% to the driver.

How far in advance should I book?

Same-day reservations are accepted 24/7 when capacity allows, but advance booking guarantees the vehicle and time you want. We recommend 24-48 hours' notice for standard airport trips, 3-5 days for groups of 6+ or oversized luggage, and 1-2 weeks ahead for peak event weekends (ACL, SXSW, F1 at COTA, college football game days, Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break). How early will the driver arrive and how long will they wait?

For drop-offs from your address, we typically arrive 5-15 minutes before scheduled pickup so you're not rushed. For airport pickups, we track your flight and the driver is curbside shortly after you land. The driver texts or calls when they arrive. Standard included wait time at pickup is 5-10 minutes; text the driver to coordinate if you need more. Extended wait on longer delays can result in a small wait-time charge — call us if you anticipate one.

Airport Pickup Locations

Your Texas Shuttle van picks you up where it says Prearranged at the airport — and at the equivalent designated areas at IAH, Hobby, AUS, SAT, ELP, and MAF. If you are in a wheelchair, do not allow your attendant to leave you anywhere except the designated prearranged pickup area. The signs are easy to see, and they are always at the curb.
Security won't allow drivers to wait or walk more than 15 feet away from their vehicle, so good communication is essential. Turn on your cell phone and take it off airplane mode and silent so your driver can call or text you. If you don't recognize the number, it's probably your driver.

Van sits about 74 miles east of DFW International Airport along the I-20 / US-80 corridor.
