Henderson to Houston Airport Shuttle

Henderson, Texas to the Houston metro is roughly a 175–195 mile drive depending on which side of Houston you're headed to — about 3 to 3.5 hours behind the wheel in light traffic. Texas Shuttle runs private, door-to-door rides from any Henderson address (75652 / 75654) to all of the major Houston destinations: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), downtown Houston, the Texas Medical Center, and the Galveston cruise terminals. No shared rides, no transfers, no waiting on other passengers. Flying United or international? Our companion Henderson to IAH page covers Terminal-by-airline tips for Bush Intercontinental.

Your driver picks you up at your front door in Henderson and heads south on US-259 to I-69 / US-59 South, the main East-Texas-to-Houston corridor. From the north side of the metro we exit to Hardy Toll Road or Beltway 8 East for IAH, or continue on I-69 / US-59 into downtown Houston, the Texas Medical Center (TMC), or south to I-45 for Hobby Airport and Galveston. (Henderson is in East Texas, so the I-45 north-to-Dallas corridor is not used for this route.) Traveling from Shelby County or the Center, TX area down to Houston? See our Center to Houston shuttle service for direct rides from Center to Houston.

At IAH we drop at any of Terminals A, B, C, D, or E — whichever your airline uses. At Hobby (HOU) we drop curbside at the single main terminal. For downtown, TMC, hotels, and Galveston cruise piers we deliver to your exact street address.

Common Questions

How long does the door-to-door drive take?

Plan on roughly 3 to 3.5 hours of driving time from Henderson to most Houston-metro destinations in normal traffic, plus a small buffer for pickup and curbside drop-off. For early-morning flights this means scheduling the pickup about 4 hours before departure (3 hours of drive + a 1 hour pre-flight cushion at the airport). Houston rush-hour traffic on Beltway 8 and I-69 can add 20–40 minutes between roughly 6–9 AM and 4–7 PM, and we’ll suggest an earlier pickup automatically when your flight or appointment falls behind a rush window.

Do you accommodate luggage?

Yes. Standard suitcases plus carry-ons fit easily in our sedans for 1–3 passengers. Larger groups, oversized bags, cruise-trip luggage (multiple checked bags per traveler), golf clubs, or musical instruments — just tell us your headcount and bag count when you book and we’ll send a Large SUV instead of a sedan at no upgrade if it’s the right size for your party.

What happens if there's a flight delay?

If your inbound flight is delayed, we re-time the pickup on our side at no charge — just call our dispatcher and we’ll adjust. For outbound flights we monitor your flight number against the airline's public feed so the pickup floats with the schedule. If you cancel within our policy window the deposit is held as credit for a future ride.

Door-to-door private rides are flat-rate — you see the all-in price in the booking tool before you confirm, no hidden surcharges, no meter, no surge pricing. Real Houston-corridor pricing for East-TX origins (Tyler, Longview, Nacogdoches, Lufkin, Henderson) on completed trips:

  • Four-Door Sedan (1–3 passengers + bags): typically $260–$340 one-way to IAH, Hobby, downtown, or TMC. ~92% of our East-TX-to-Houston rides go in a sedan.
  • Large SUV (4–7 passengers, extra luggage, golf clubs, cruise bags): typically $360–$480 one-way. Same vehicle handles families, small groups, and oversized-luggage runs.
  • Galveston cruise: +$40–$80 over the Houston-airport rate to cover the extra ~30 mi south on I-45.

Gratuity is optional and not built into the displayed price. Travel Tips: East TX to Houston

  • IAH terminals by airline (quick reference): Terminal A — United domestic (some); Terminal B — United Express regional; Terminal C — United mainline domestic; Terminal D — international (United, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, Emirates, Qatar, Singapore, British Airways, etc.); Terminal E — international + some United. We confirm the terminal at booking based on your flight number, and the driver will reconfirm 24 hr before pickup.
  • Southwest flyers: Hobby (HOU), not IAH. Hobby has one terminal, much shorter walks, and an extra ~15–30 min beyond IAH from Henderson. We default to HOU for any Southwest flight number.
  • Early-morning flights: the East-TX-to-Houston run has almost no traffic before 5 AM; a 2 AM pickup from Henderson puts you curbside at IAH around 5 AM. Bring the pickup forward an hour if your flight is at peak Houston rush (7–9 AM domestic banks).
  • TMC appointment rides: for outpatient MD Anderson, Memorial Hermann, or Methodist appointments, we recommend booking a round-trip with a driver wait (about 2–4 hours on-site) rather than two one-ways — the wait fee is well under the cost of a second ride.
  • Galveston cruises: book the inbound ride for cruise-day morning to arrive at Pier 21 or Pier 25 by 11 AM–12 PM boarding, and schedule the return ride for one to two days after debarkation morning — cruise debarkation lines vary widely so a flexible return time on file makes the day smoother.
  • Flight delays / cancellations: our dispatcher reschedules pickups at no charge inside our policy window. For deeply delayed inbounds (3+ hours), call dispatch directly at (817) 403-6196 so we can re-stage the driver instead of running clock-time on standby.
