Why Love Field (DAL) vs. DFW for a Kilgore trip

Dallas Love Field is the closer of the two Dallas airports for downtown Dallas and Uptown destinations, sits about 10 minutes north of downtown via the Dallas North Tollway, and is operated by the City of Dallas. Southwest Airlines accounts for the vast majority of DAL departures (Southwest's headquarters is on the field), with limited service from Delta. If your flight is Southwest, Love Field is almost always the right airport from Kilgore — the drive is the same I-20 corridor but the terminal experience is faster: one terminal, shorter walks, and TSA wait times that average 5–15 minutes off-peak.
