Humble to Austin Airport Shuttle
Texas Shuttle runs private, door-to-door rides between Humble, TX and the Austin metro — including Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), downtown Austin hotels, UT, the Domain, Round Rock, and Cedar Park. Most riders are Humble/Atascocita/Kingwood residents heading to a flight out of AUS, families avoiding the I-45 + SH-130 drive in their own car, or Austin-bound business travelers who do not want to connect through IAH or HOU.
Distance and Drive Time (the honest numbers)
Door-to-door road distance from Humble, TX to Austin is about 166 miles to a downtown Austin address and about 176 miles to AUS terminal curb. Typical driving time off-peak (per current routing) is 3 hours 19 minutes to AUS and 3 hours 19 minutes to downtown Austin. Plan on 3.5 to 4 hours total if your pickup or arrival window touches Houston rush hour (06:30–09:00 or 15:30–19:00 weekdays) — the bottleneck is almost always the Houston end on I-45, not the open stretch through Brenham, Giddings and Bastrop.
Route — Why It Is I-45 + SH-130, Not I-35
From Humble (NE Houston), the fastest route to Austin is I-45 South / Sam Houston Tollway West → US-290 West → SH-130 North toll → I-35 South into Austin — not straight I-35. The reason: I-35 between Austin and San Antonio (and inside the Austin city limits) is one of the most congested corridors in Texas, while the SH-130 toll road bypasses Austin to the east and shaves 30–45 minutes during weekday afternoons. Our drivers choose between two main corridors live:
- Standard: US-290 West out of Houston → Brenham → Giddings → SH-130 toll → AUS or central Austin. Best for AUS drop-offs and east-side Austin addresses.
- Alternate: I-10 West → SH-71 West (Columbus / La Grange / Bastrop) → AUS or south Austin. Better when US-290 has construction or when the pickup is south of Beltway 8.
The all-in toll cost on SH-130 is bundled into the quote — you do not pay tolls separately.

Austin Drop-off — AUS, Downtown, UT, Domain, Round Rock
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) has one main passenger terminal (Barbara Jordan Terminal), with all major US carriers operating from the same building — we drop at the departures curb of your specific airline. There is a smaller South Terminal used by Allegiant and a few charter flights; tell us your carrier at booking and we route there if needed. For non-airport drops we go directly to the address you provide — downtown hotels (Cambria, JW Marriott, Hilton, Fairmont), UT-Austin campus, the Domain, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville. No extra fee for residential or hotel drops inside the metro.
Humble Pickup — Atascocita and Kingwood Included
Pickup is door-to-door anywhere in Humble, Atascocita, Kingwood, Crosby, and Porter. Common Humble pickup points: homes off FM-1960 and US-59, hotels near Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) such as the Ramada and Comfort Inn off Will Clayton Pkwy, and corporate addresses on Sam Houston Pkwy E. If you live in Humble but are flying out of IAH (7 mi) or HOU (30 mi), those are separate, shorter trips — this page is specifically for the 166–176 mile haul to Austin.
Travel Tips for the Humble → Austin Run
- Leave 4 hours before your AUS flight — that is 3h15m drive + 45 min buffer for Houston traffic, AUS curb-to-gate, and TSA. AUS PreCheck lines run 5–15 min off-peak, 20–40 min during early-morning departure waves (05:00–07:30).
- Bathroom stop is roughly Brenham or Giddings (about the midpoint, ~75 mi into the drive). Buc-ee's in Bastrop is the most common late-trip stop.
- For 04:00–06:00 AUS departures, book the pickup the night before by 22:00. Same-day overnight bookings are accepted but should be confirmed by phone.
- Flight delays: drivers wait up to 2 hours past scheduled arrival at no extra charge, with live flight tracking. Longer delays — text the dispatch number on your confirmation.
- Tolls: SH-130 is included in your quote. You will not be billed separately by TxTag.
