Dallas Love Field Airport Guide
Round Trips Save You 10%
Dallas Love Field (DAL) is the closest commercial airport to downtown Dallas, about 6 miles northwest, and it is one of the easiest airports in Texas to get in and out of once you know its quirks. It is also the airport travelers most often confuse with DFW, 17 miles farther out in Grapevine. This guide covers the terminal, the pickup areas, when Love Field is the smarter choice, and the ride home. To reserve a ride, our book an airport shuttle online page walks through the 60-second quote-and-confirm flow for Love Field, DFW, AUS and both Houston airports.
One Terminal, Twenty Gates
Love Field operates a single terminal with about 20 gates, and it is dominated by Southwest Airlines, which is headquartered nearby and uses DAL as a focus city. What that means in practice:
- Short walks everywhere. From gate to baggage claim to curb is rarely more than 10 minutes. There are no trains, no shuttle buses and no terminal changes.
- Peak waves, not all-day crowds. Southwest banks its departures, so the terminal is calm one hour and packed the next. Late afternoon and Sunday evenings are the waves to plan around. We need answer only translated HTML. Need preserve all tags exactly as-is. Need translate natural native LatAm Spanish. Input starts fragment "
- One security checkpoint...." Need translate content, attributes? "Keep ALL HTML tags exactly as-is." Means tags exact, likely attributes in tags too. Keep link title? It's HTML attribute, not tag technically. They ask translate landing page English to Spanish, likely translate title attribute too? But "Keep ALL HTML tags exactly as-is" perhaps href/title attributes unchanged? Usually "Keep all HTML tags exactly as-is" means don't alter tags, but attribute values can be translated? Need decide. They specifically keep city/airport names and codes unchanged. Phone URLs unchanged. For link title "Dallas Love Field shuttle" should translate to "shuttle de Dallas Love Field" maybe attribute value not tag. But if they mean tags exactly, attribute values can change. Need preserve exactly? They said Keep ALL HTML tags exactly as-is. Could translate title. But "tags" includes opening tag with attributes? They may expect title unchanged? Hmm. Need return only translated HTML. No markdown. Need translate:
- One security checkpoint. Line lengths swing with the waves, so check wait times before you leave for the airport.
Where Pickups Happen at Love Field
Texas Shuttle picks up Love Field travelers 24/7, door to door and non-stop. Our Dallas Love Field shuttle page has the full service details: flight tracking, automatic pickup adjustments on delays, and no shared bus stops.
Pickup Timing After You Land
For domestic arrivals we normally schedule pickup 30 minutes after landing, or 15 minutes if you have no checked bags. Bags arrive fast at Love Field, but the Southwest arrival waves can still add 10 to 15 minutes at the carousel. If your flight is delayed, the pickup adjusts automatically; text us if your flight number changes so nothing depends on a guess.
Late Nights and Early Mornings
Need translate natural LatAm. Names: Love Field, Southwest, Texas Shuttle, Dallas Love Field shuttle? Keep city/airport names and codes unchanged. "Love Field" unchanged. "Dallas Love Field shuttle" maybe "shuttle de Dallas Love Field" but Dallas is city name unchanged. "Texas Shuttle" brand unchanged. "Southwest" airline unchanged. "app rides" = rides hailing apps. "ground transportation" = transporte terrestre. "curb" = bordillo/acera? In LatAm "banqueta" maybe Mexico/LatAm. For airport shuttle, "acera" or "bordillo" (Spain). Native Latin American: "banqueta" common Mexico; "vereda" Argentina; "andén" Chile. General LatAm? "la zona del borde de la calle" but natural. Could use "la acera" acceptable. But LatAm native maybe "banqueta" in Mexico; Dallas Love Field context, Mexican Spanish travelers? "la banqueta" natural. "door to door and non-stop" = puerta a puerta y sin paradas. "no shared bus stops" = no paradas compartidas de autobús/ shuttle? "no tienes que compartir paradas de shuttle" maybe. "app rides" = viajes de aplicaciones. "taxi y shuttle". "prearranged pickup" = recogida/preparada de antemano. "driver already knows your flight, is staged before you land" = tu conductor ya conoce tu vuelo y te está esperando antes de que aterrices. "moves the moment you reach the curb with bags" = sale en cuanto llegas a la banqueta con tu equipaje. "One security checkpoint." = "Un solo control de seguridad." "Line lengths swing with the waves" = "Las filas suben y bajan con los grupos de llegadas" (waves). "check wait times before you leave for the airport." "recogida" singular in Spanish. "Dónde se hacen las recogidas..." maybe. "Dónde se hacen las recogidas en Love Field" okay. "Arrivals and ground transportation share the lower level." Good. "The curb gets congested during the Southwest waves" = "La banqueta se congestionan durante los grupos de llegadas de Southwest" or "las oleadas de llegadas de Southwest". "waves" in airline = "grupos de llegadas" more natural. "y los viajes por aplicaciones, taxis y shuttles compiten por el mismo espacio." Good. "A prearranged pickup sidesteps the queue" = "Una recogida prearreglada evita la fila" maybe "una recogida programada con antelación te evita la fila". "your driver already knows your flight, is staged before you land" = "tu conductor ya conoce tu vuelo, está listo antes de que aterrices" "is staged" = "ya está asignado/ubicado". "and moves the moment you reach the curb with bags" = "y sale en cuanto llegas a la banqueta con tu equipaje." "Texas Shuttle picks up Love Field travelers 24/7, door to door and non-stop." Could use "24/7" unchanged? User says phone numbers and URLs unchanged, not all text. But maybe keep "24/7" as is? Translate "24/7" to "las 24 horas, los 7 días" natural. "door to door and non-stop" = "de puerta a puerta y sin escalas". For shuttle, "sin paradas intermedias" better. "nuestra página de shuttle de Dallas Love Field tiene todos los detalles..." Keep "Dallas Love Field shuttle" maybe translate title. If preserving attributes exactly? Hmm. "flight tracking" = "seguimiento de vuelos". "automatic pickup adjustments on delays" = "ajustes automáticos de la recogida si hay retrasos". "no shared bus stops" = "sin paradas compartidas de autobús" or "sin tener que compartir paradas de shuttle." Since shuttle not bus? "no shared bus stops" = "sin paradas compartidas de autobús." In LatAm "paradas de colectivo" regional. "bus stops" = "paradas de autobús". Could use "sin paradas compartidas en autobús" but "no shared bus stops" means no shared rides with pickups at stops. "y sin paradas compartidas de shuttle." But original says bus stops; "shuttle" maybe. Need translate faithfully. "sin paradas compartidas de autobús." Good. "Pickup Timing After You Land" = "Cuándo se hace la recogida después de aterrizar" or "Horarios de recogida después de aterrizar". "Timing" = "momento de la recogida". "Horarios de recogida después de aterrizar" natural. "For domestic arrivals we normally schedule pickup 30 minutes after landing, or 15 minutes if you have no checked bags." "checked bags" = "equipaje facturado" (LatAm) / "maletas facturadas". "Bags arrive fast at Love Field" = "Las maletas suelen salir rápido en Love Field" or "El equipaje llega rápido..." "carousel" = "cinta transportadora" / "bandeja" regional. "cinta transportadora" widely understood. "Southwest arrival waves can still add 10 to 15 minutes at the carousel" = "pero los grupos de llegadas de Southwest aún pueden sumar de 10 a 15 minutos en la cinta transportadora." "If your flight is delayed, the pickup adjusts automatically; text us if your flight number changes so nothing depends on a guess." "text us" = "envíanos un mensaje" more natural than "escríbenos por SMS" maybe.

Five Tips for a Smooth Love Field Trip
- Plan around the Southwest waves, not the clock. Departure banks mean the checkpoint can be empty at 10 a.m. and 40 deep at 4:30 p.m.; check the posted wait time before leaving home.
- Arrivals mean the lower level, always. There is only one terminal, so a missed meeting point is almost always a wrong-level problem, not a wrong-terminal one.
- Give your driver the airline and flight number. Southwest gate changes are common, and a tracked flight beats a texted "I'm here."
- For early flights, reserve at least 90 minutes before departure. The checkpoint opens well before the first bank, and the drive in is quick from most of Dallas, but the 5-6 a.m. window is when a flat, prearranged pickup earns its keep.
- Double-check the airport code on your ticket. DAL and DFW are different airports 17 miles apart; booking the wrong one is the single most common mistake we see on Dallas routes.
What if my Southwest flight into Love Field is late at night?
We run 24/7 pickups, so late arrivals are normal business for us, not an exception. The pickup adjusts automatically to the new arrival time, your driver waits at the lower-level curb, and you ride non-stop home even if that lands well after midnight.
